A teacher lost her job because she wouldn't give up her side hustle. Considering the amount of work they put in on a daily basis, teachers tend to be seriously underpaid. Studies estimate the average teacher works 54 hours a week, which hardly makes up for getting summers off. It's one profession that rarely gets the credit it deserves.
This is especially true of preschool teachers, who are dramatically underpaid when you consider the patience it takes to put up with small children who spend their days screaming at the top of their lungs and making as big of a mess as possible. As a result, many people in the profession are forced to pick up a second job to make ends meet.
